Skyrift Privacy Policy

Introduction
Skyrift ("we", "us", or "our") provides the Skyrift mobile application for iOS ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how we protect it, your rights under global privacy laws (including GDPR, CCPA, COPPA), and how to contact us. By using the App you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide weather features and user-requested functionality.
• Personal Data
- Location Data (precise GPS / coarse location) — required to provide real-time weather, forecasts, widgets, Dynamic Island Live Activity, and saved location features.
• Sensitive Data
- We do not collect medical, financial, biometric, or other categories of sensitive personal data.
• Usage & Technical Data
- We do not collect analytics or device-identifying telemetry beyond the minimum location information needed to request forecasts from Apple WeatherKit. The App does not collect or transmit identifiers or analytics to any third parties other than Apple for WeatherKit requests.
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information for the following purposes:
• To provide and operate the App features (real-time weather, hourly/10-day forecasts, widgets, Dynamic Island Live Activity, location-based insights).
• To personalize your experience, including support for multiple saved locations and preferred language settings.
• To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
• To improve and maintain the App (bug fixes and feature updates). Note: we do not use third-party analytics services in the current version.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR): Processing of precise location data is based on your consent provided through iOS location permissions and is necessary to perform the contract of providing a weather service through the App.
Third-Party Access
Skyrift uses Apple’s WeatherKit to obtain precise weather forecasts. When you request a forecast for your current location or a saved location, precise location data is transmitted to Apple WeatherKit servers in order to return weather data.

We do not share your personal information with advertising networks, analytics providers, or other third parties outside of Apple WeatherKit in the current App version. If that changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and clearly disclose any new third-party sharing.
Data Retention
• Location Data used to provide immediate weather information: processed as needed to fulfill your request (real-time), and not retained by Skyrift beyond the session unless you explicitly save a location.
• Saved locations: stored locally on your device until you delete them via the App.
• Backups/exports: if you export or share saved locations using standard iOS features, those exports are handled by your device and any third-party services you choose to use.
• If you request deletion of data, we will remove saved locations and any user-specific data we control within 30 days, subject to verification (see "Your Rights").
Security
We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Examples include:
• Transport security (HTTPS/TLS) when communicating with Apple WeatherKit.
• Minimizing data collection and keeping saved data on your device by default.
• Encouraging users to secure their devices (passcode, biometric, device encryption).
No system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your data, we will comply with applicable notification laws.
Children’s Privacy
Skyrift is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA and similar global rights)
We respect your privacy rights. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
• Right to Access: Request confirmation of whether we process your personal data and request a copy.
• Right to Delete / Right to Erasure: Request deletion of personal information we control (e.g., saved locations). We will comply within 30 days after verifying your request, unless a legal exception applies.
• Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
• Right to Data Portability: Request a portable copy of the personal data you provided to us.
• Right to Withdraw Consent / Opt-out: You can revoke consent for location processing at any time by disabling location access for the App in iOS Settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Skyrift). Disabling location will limit or disable certain features (live updates, widgets, Dynamic Island Live Activity).
• CCPA-specific: California residents may request disclosure of categories of personal information collected and the purposes for which it was collected, and may request deletion or opt-out of sale. Skyrift does not sell personal information.

Location & Device Controls (How to opt-out)
You control location access via iOS settings:
• Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Skyrift
Options include:
• Allow While Using the App
• Allow Once
• Ask Next Time
• Never
Disabling location will prevent live weather updates, accurate forecasts for your current location, Dynamic Island Live Activity updates, and location-based widgets.
AI-Powered Features
The App does not use AI or AI-service providers for processing user data in the current release. If we introduce AI-powered features in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy to clearly describe how those features work and how data is processed.
Advertising and User Tracking
Skyrift does not serve advertisements and does not engage in cross-app user tracking for advertising purposes in the current version. We do not share data with ad networks.
In‑App Purchases & Subscriptions; Refunds
• Business model: The App is free to use. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions in the current version.
• Refunds: If you make a purchase through Apple in the future, refunds are handled by Apple App Store policies. For any refunds currently applicable (if a paid feature is later introduced), the refund policy is 14 days as a guideline; final refund processing is subject to Apple’s commerce and refund procedures.
If we introduce auto-renewing subscriptions in the future, we will provide specific billing, cancellation, and refund information and comply with App Store requirements regarding disclosure and cancellation.
Data Transfers
When you use the App, location data is transmitted to Apple WeatherKit servers which may be located in various jurisdictions. Apple’s processing of your data is governed by Apple’s privacy policies and terms. By using the App you consent to this transfer. Where applicable, we will take steps required by law to ensure appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or our data practices. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice (for example via the App or email if you have provided one). Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Do Not Sell / Share My Personal Information
Skyrift does not sell or share personal information for monetary consideration. If you are in a jurisdiction that grants the right to opt-out of sale or sharing, this right is inapplicable because we do not engage in those activities.
